David Bunce R.I.P.
It is with sadness that we learn of the passing into new life of David Bunce. He was a tireless worker for the SVP as well as being a Eucharistic Minister and an active Catenean for many years. Our prayers go out to his wife Jean and family. Please see separate page for details of his funeral.
Wednesday Evening Holy Mass.
Because of the dark nights and cold weather, attendance at the 7pm Mass has dropped. So, with immediate effect, until the summer and light evenings, Wednesday holy Mass will be at 09.30 am
The Year of Faith – Message from Father Kevin
As I am no longer your shepherd and teacher, may I suggest that you visit www.EWTN.com Global Catholic Network, where you will find much food for yours souls and topical debates re the Church in the world. How can you defend that which you don’t even know about? To defend our Catholic standpoint, the Civilisation of Life & Love, we must be informed and able to debate the Church’s take on life in this age of relativism, where “choice” is enthroned over reason. Anyone with a computer and internet access can view this site and it is free!
On a personal note, thank you for all your kind messages of support and promises of prayerful support to me at this most difficult time.
Father Lucas Ngwa
The first Sunday of Advent, this Sunday, you will welcome your new shepherd, Father Lucas. Please look after him, invite him to your home for meals, show him around, take him to your hearts; and do not leave him on his own at Christmas. Why not have a rota to give him Sunday lunch? Father Lucas will not see this newsletter until it is printed, and I know he would be embarrassed at what I am suggesting, and what I have asked Barrieto publish in this, my last newsletter. I only ask, as I know what kind-hearted and generous people you are.
Parish Christmas Fayre
The Christmas Fayre will be held in the hall this Sunday, following the 8 am and 11 am Masses. The usual tea and coffee will be served. Cakes, Mince Pies, Jams, Chutneys and Raffle prizes are urgently required.
